The 2021 North Carolina Planning Conference Committee is looking forward to presenting an exciting, compelling agenda to our conference attendees. We encourage our session speakers to contribute their expertise and share new practices, trends, challenges, and solutions that are shaping planning today. This year's conference theme is  EQUITY: RECOGNITION & RESET.

  • APA-NC and the North Carolina Planning Conference Committee will be utilizing Whova as our event management platform. 
  • Access to Whova can be via a mobile device or through the web.
  • Speakers will be receiving an email from Whova requesting they fill out the SPEAKER FORM.
  • Once the email is received,  speakers will be prompted to create a free Whova account or will be able to sign-in to their Whova account if they already have one. 
  • Information needed on the SPEAKER FORM may include the speaker's bio, profile picture, LinkedIn profile, etc. It will also allow speakers the ability to add any documents pertaining to the session they wish to provide attendees. Not all information is required. 
  • On the SPEAKER FORM, speakers will also have the ability to share their pre-recorded session. To share, speakers need to scroll to the "Virtual Presentation" section.  A URL of  the pre-recorded session can be added or the video itself can be uploaded to the form. Whova supports most video formats such as mp4, mov, etc. We ask that recorded sessions be limited or compressed to 500 MB or smaller. The Preferred Stream Partners are also listed on the form and include: Zoom Meeting/Webinar, Vimeo Livestream, and Youtube Live. Other Recommended Services are also listed.
  • Speakers can come back to the form whenever needed to edit the information. 
  • Although sessions will be pre-recorded, speakers can interact with our attendees before, during and after their session. There will be two ways for speakers to interact. 1) Set-up a poll on the Speaker Form and 2) Answer questions from attendees. To access questions from attendees, speakers must go to the Speaker Hub on their mobile device and click on "Questions from My Audience."
  • There is a link to a Whova Speaker Guide at the top of the Speaker Form. Not all of the information in the guide is relevant to pre-recorded sessions, but it does cover a lot of the information listed above in more detail.
  • Sessions submitted as lectures are asked to stick to the 60 minute time restriction.
  • Lightning Round Sessions can be pre-recorded as 15 minute mini-presentations that we will be using as Quick Talks.
  • We ask that all bio information and pre-recorded sessions be uploaded by Monday, October 4, 2021.
