Hiring Range: $56,687 - $72,276/Year D.O.Q.

The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for a Planner II to perform complex professional level work in the fields of current and comprehensive planning; provide planning, annexations and development information and assistance to developers, businesses and the general public. The position may lead assigned projects and programs.

This is the full journey level within the Planner series. Employees are distinguished from the Planner I by the performance of the full range of assigned duties including complex planning research and development. Employees at this level are fully knowledgeable of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit, and receive only occasional training or assistance when new or unusual situations arise.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience:
Two years of increasingly responsible professional urban planning experience.

Training:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent to a from an accredited college or university with major course work in planning, urban design, public administration, business management or a related field.

LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS:

Required:
None

Preferred:
American Institute of Certified Planners and/or North Carolina Certified Zoning Official certification or similar.

From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last approximately 4 - 6 weeks. The process will consist of a panel interview with the selected candidate being subject to a pre-employment drug screen, background check and driving history check.
